As a family business it was important to us to do all we could to support our local communities, charity partnerships, keep deliveries going to our customers and ultimately keep our people safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.
We have been working harder than ever to ensure we deliver in these four areas and I wanted to share some of ways we have been doing this.
Community
Supporting our local community is something very close to our hearts and it is very important to us as a family.  We wanted to continue with this more than ever as the country was in crisis.
We worked incredibly hard to get as much fresh fruit and vegetables and essential items to those people who needed it, mostly through our partnership with The Felix project in Enfield. To read more click here
We also launched a home delivery service for residents around our National Distribution Centre in Waltham Cross to allow them the opportunity to shield at home safely whilst still being able to get fresh fruit and vegetables for their families.
Our NHS worked tirelessly over the last few months and we said our own small thank you with free fresh fruit and vegetables to our local NHS teams.
Charity Partnership
We continued our donations to Magic Breakfast, who provide a healthy school breakfast to children at risk of hunger in disadvantaged areas of the UK.
The impact of lockdown and the coronavirus pandemic has been challenging for us all, but for thousands of families across the UK it has been unimaginably tough. With school around the UK closed, Magic Breakfast has remained committed to ensuring that vulnerable children can access a free, nutritious breakfast to fuel their learning, whether this is at school or at home. New collection sites and special deliveries direct to homes have helped Magic Breakfast continue to deliver their service.
More information about the great work Magic Breakfast do can be found here.
Delivering to our Customers
I am incredibly proud of our people for their determination to keep Reynolds delivering fresh produce, meat, fish, and dairy to our customers during the last few months. They have worked tirelessly to ensure Care Homes and the NHS received deliveries on time with as much fresh product as possible. Each one of them has gone the extra mile and I am incredibly grateful for their support.

Protecting our People
The health, safety and wellbeing of our people is always our number one priority.
To ensure everyone is as protected as possible during this time, Reynolds remains agile and responsive to official guidance updates from the government and PHE related to COVID-19. We have put in place additional safety measures across the business and adapted our ways of working appropriately. This includes social distancing, minimising visitors on site and increased cleaning, hand washing and general hygiene routines across the business. These health and safety plans are underpinned by a formal risk assessment and we have engaged our people through training and communication to ensure everyone remains vigilant.

The wellbeing of our staff remains an important focus for the business. Throughout the pandemic, Reynolds has been keeping in contact with its team via email and its private Facebook group, Team Talk Online. This included a four-week step challenge to ensure colleagues were remaining active and the launch of an online Wellbeing Centre under the three pillars of: physical, financial and mental health.
It remains uncertain times for us all and none of us know what the future holds, but we remain committed to supporting our local community and charity partnership, whilst continuing to protect our people so we can get through this together and come out stronger on the other side.
Stay Safe
Tony Reynolds
