Food for Life
The Food for Life catering mark provides an independent endorsement that food providers are taking steps to improve the food they serve, using fresh ingredients which are free from undesirable additives and trans fats, are better for animal welfare, and comply with national nutrition standards.
The catering mark has been cited by the Department for Education as a national framework to support caterers to increase uptake of quality school meals and by NHS England as a way to improve hospital food.
The Government’s new Plan for Procurement recognises the catering mark as a ‘well-established’ best practice tool as it helps to define an approach towards using fresh, seasonal, local and organic ingredients whenever possible.

Grower information is available to help customers market provenance to students. We can even provide product training and workshops to help your school achieve its Bronze, Silver or Gold Food for Life catering mark.
