Reynolds is proud of being involved with in a number of voluntary activities within the local and wider community.

World Skills

WorldSkills

WorldSkills is the world’s largest, international skills competition with young people from across the globe competing to be the best of the best in their chosen skill. The most recent competition took place in London during October 2011 but training continues for future events, including the 2015 finals in Sao Paulo.

Official fresh produce supplier to WorldSkills London 2011, Reynolds supplied ingredients for the cooking and confectioner/pastry events at the competition. Reynolds also invited Ben Murphy, cooking entrant from the UK squad for WorldSkills London 2011 and commis-chef at Koffmann’s, to practise his techniques in its development kitchen ahead of the competition.

Reynolds was delighted to eventually congratulate Ben who was awarded a gold medal.

Crisis

Over the last six years, Reynolds has donated over 10,000 bananas for runners participating in Crisis’ annual Square Mile Run and its Square Mile Relay.

Crisis aims to end homelessness by transforming the lives of homeless people through innovative education, employment, housing and well-being services.

In addition, Crisis campaigns to prevent people from becoming homeless and advocates solutions for those at risk informed by its research and direct experience. Since it began in 1992, the Square Mile event has raised over £2 million for Crisis.

Dallaglio Flintoff Cycle Slam

In May 2012, Tony Reynolds took part in the Dallaglio Flintoff Cycle Slam, joining sporting legends, Lawrence Dallaglio and Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff in what was been described by organisers as an epic charity cycle ride.

Tony took part in the third of five legs of the monumental challenge, cycling a total of 562 kilometres over five consecutive days across Italy, including some gruelling mountain climbs through the Alps.

Tony’s kind supporters helped to raise over £6,000 for charity with donations divided amongst many worthy charities including Cancer Research UK and Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Tony also took part in the 2013 event, riding over seven consecutive days in the UK to raise valuable funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Cancer Research UK

Throughout the year, the Reynolds’ family often hold internal competitions and prize draws for Cancer Research UK and other cancer charities. Most recently, In October 2015, Reynolds staff helped to raise £175 in support of The Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK.

Everyone knows someone who has suffered at the hands of this terrible disease and the work these charities do to support cancer patients and their families is well documented.
