Growing responsibly
Food safety is critical for our customers and something Reynolds takes very seriously.
Reynolds has been certified at the highest level of the British Retail Consortium Technical Standard for Food since it began in 1998. This means that all Reynolds’ suppliers are audited and meet the most stringent standards. Download a copy of our current BRC certificate here.
In addition, all Reynolds suppliers are accredited to GLOBALG.A.P standard. The standard is primarily designed to reassure consumers about how food is produced on the farm by minimising detrimental environmental impacts of farming operations, reducing the use of chemical inputs and ensuring a responsible approach to worker health and safety as well as animal welfare.
What’s more, Reynolds’ technical product specifications are developed by us and are often tailored to suit individual customer requirements.
The 19 members of Reynolds’ technical department have a wealth of experience and knowledge covering all aspects of food safety. Our technical director is also a voluntary director of the Society of Food Hygiene and Technology.
Reynolds has links with the food technology departments at South Bank and London Metropolitan Universities as well as Writtle Agricultural College, helping us stay ahead of the competition.
Our proactive approach means that we work hand in hand with our growers to ensure our produce is grown safely and appropriately. This includes monitoring and working with producers on:
Reynolds’ responsibilities don’t end there; we ensure that throughout the chill chain our produce is stored and transported in the right way. This ensures complete traceability and peace of mind for our customers, as well as consistent quality.
